New Spam Reporting Feature 2018

New LEDS Spam Reporting Feature

31/08/18

Our Email Security Service, LEDS will be upgraded with a new feature, which will greatly supplement LEDS ability to eliminate spam with sharper accuracy.

The change provides more confidence in the accuracy of submissions from end users and will eliminate the incidence of submissions from robots and other illegitimate sources. Ultimately, this will mean even better protection for all our clients using LEDS.

The change works as follows;

Currently, any inbound email that passes through the LEDS email security service is stamped with a Report as Spam link, allowing end users to notify the LEDFS system if they receive unsolicited email. When a user clicks this link, it generates a message with information about the spam, which is used to update MailGuards' threat detection engines.

Soon this process will have an additional step requiring users to confirm that they want to report an email as spam. As can be seen from the below screenshot;

Once an email has been submitted, users are presented with the following Report As Spam confirmation page:

These changes will improve LEDS ability to classify spam and provide more confidence in the accuracy of submissions from end users. This will further eliminate the incidence of submissions from robots and other illegitimate sources. Ultimately, this will mean even better protection for all LEDS customers.

There is not expected to be any adverse effects from the changes, however, if you do experience any problems please feel free to let us know.
