The Notifiable Data Breach Scheme is now Australian Law

The Notifiable Data Breach Scheme (as part of the Privacy Act amendment) is now enforcible legislation in all Australian states and territories.
The fines for violations of these laws (either voluntary or involuntary) are up to $1.8 million for businesses and $360,000 for individuals.
